Primary School

At SVIS , our Primary School provides a vibrant and inspiring learning journey divided into two key stages — Key Stage One and Key Stage Two. Each stage is thoughtfully designed to nurture curiosity, creativity, and confidence while helping children reach their full potential.

Key Stage One – Building Strong Foundations

In Key Stage One, we build upon the solid groundwork established in the Early Years. Children are encouraged to explore, question, and develop a love for learning through a balanced mix of engaging lessons and hands-on experiences.

The focus is on strengthening key skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening, while also fostering curiosity through Mathematics, Science, History, and Geography.
Our classrooms are alive with creativity and discovery — where interactive activities, collaborative projects, and the use of modern technology make learning meaningful, memorable, and fun.

Key Stage Two – Expanding Horizons

As students move into Key Stage Two, they embark on a broader and more challenging academic journey. Learning becomes deeper and more analytical, encouraging children to think critically, solve problems, and express their ideas confidently.

The curriculum expands to include Literature, Mathematics, Science, Geography, History, French, German, Chinese, Fine Arts, and Music, giving every student the opportunity to explore their talents and interests.
Through creative lessons, real-world connections, and inquiry-based projects, students develop independence and a lifelong passion for discovery.

Key Stage Three and Four

Lower School – Years 6 to 8

At SVIS, our Lower School (Years 6–8) provides a strong bridge between Primary and Secondary education, helping students grow academically, socially, and emotionally as they begin to take greater ownership of their learning.

Upper School – Year 9 to 12

In Year 9, students focus on developing a strong academic foundation as they prepare for their IGCSE journey.

To meet the requirements of the Egyptian Ministry of Education (MOE) — which mandates external examinations for core subjects in Year 9 — students follow the Cambridge Pre-IGCSE courses in English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
In addition, students study the compulsory Arabic curriculum, consisting of Arabic Language, Social Studies, and Religious Studies.

This balanced program ensures that students gain both international academic exposure and a solid grounding in their national studies.

Year 10 – Beginning the IGCSE Journey

From Year 10, students officially begin their IGCSE courses. At SVIS, we offer a flexible and personalised approach that allows learners to tailor their studies according to their strengths and future aspirations.

Only English , Mathematics and Chemistry are compulsory at this stage, while students can select two additional IGCSE subjects from a wide range of options .

To support students in making informed choices, we provide a comprehensive career guidance programme, which includes one-to-one counselling sessions to help each student identify the most suitable academic path.

Years 11 and 12 – Pathway to A Levels

In Year 11 and 12, students move forward by selecting three additional IGCSE subjects, alongside beginning their AS Level studies and A2 of their chosen AS subjects. This structure allows for both depth and flexibility in learning, preparing students for university-level expectations.
